If you are:
You will receive an automatic acknowledgement as soon as we receive your application. We will aim to get back to you with an outcome within a fortnight. In many cases we can let you know sooner.
All successful applicants will be subject to right to work checks. This will include existing assessors applying for a new opportunity. Right to work checks will be undertaken by the screening company Credence on behalf of Cambridge Assessment.
Payment for marking varies according to the type and level of the exam and on the time that marking a script is likely to take. Details of the fee per script marked and the approximate number of scripts available to be marked will be stated in any invitation to mark in a specific series.
Payment for moderation varies according to the mode of moderation, whether this is postal or visiting, and takes the form of either a moderation visit fee or a moderation fee related to the number of candidates sampled. The fee offered will be stated in any invitation to moderate in a specific series.
It is possible to mark if you live outside the UK but you must hold a bank account in your country of residence. Also, you must be able to attend meetings (should they be required for your unit).
For assessment specialists travelling to required meetings from abroad, OCR will pay travel expenses from the point of entry (an airport or port of entry) to the UK to the meeting venue. In exceptional circumstances a request for reimbursement of expenses for travel to and from a destination outside the UK will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the comparative costs of journeys of similar distances made within the UK.
